HATS Group Create Position of Director of Transport & Fleet Quality Standards

At Health and Transport Services (HATS) Group, we pride ourselves on our ability to maintain high-quality standards in all of our services. And with the appointment of a new Director of Transport & Fleet Quality Standards, I’m delighted that we can continue to provide the best transport services possible.

A newly created position that we have been searching to fill for over two years, we are very happy that Michael Burke has joined the HATS Group in the new role. A qualified City & Guilds HGV Fitter, Michael also holds a Certificate of Professional Competency in both Road and Passenger Transport Management.

Michael joins the HATS Group from An Post (National Post Ireland), at which he held the position of Transport Manager; overseeing 63 branch managers, 1,200 drivers and a fleet of more than 2,800 vehicles in 200 locations.

In his new role as Director of Transport & Fleet Quality Standards, Michael is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our vehicle compliance, assuring our high standards are kept throughout the company.

After being able to find someone of Michael’s background and skill, we at the HATS Group are very much looking forward to the on-going development of the quality of service we deliver to our customers.

Michael recently commented on the new role saying “I am thrilled to be offered this opportunity. I had spent the previous ten years working with An Post during some of the most difficult economic times in memory. With the support of some very able staff we were able to lower costs whilst maintaining the highest service levels expected from the Irish Post Office.

“I expect to be able to use some of this experience to drive down costs at HATS while enhancing the quality of service we deliver to our Service Users and Regulatory Bodies. As an approved CPC Holder and tutor by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, I will be looking to develop a highly focused team around me, and am confident all stakeholders will see the benefits of HATS committing to this project.”

HATS Group Partnership Agreement with Northgate PLC

I’m proud to announce that the Healthcare and Transport Services (HATS) Group have signed a partnership agreement with Northgate PLC, which involved the delivery of approximately £1.3m worth of brand new vehicles as part of our home to school fleet.

A market leader in commercial vehicle leasing, Northgate PLC has a UK wide network of 62 branches with a total fleet size of 53,000. Having operated in the sector since 1981, Northgate are one of the UK’s most trusted and reliable vehicle leasing companies. And it’s a great step forward to be working with them.

Chris Cannon, Fleet Compliance Manager at HATS, who will be responsible for the fleet of Northgate vehicles commented, “I am over the moon. I was the Fleet Services Manager at Ford for many years and so I have a good understanding of Ford product. Everybody from Northgate has been great to work with so far and the drivers think they new kit is brilliant which is obviously important to us. Lets hope it’s the first of many deliveries”.

Northgate recently commented on the recant partnership saying:

“During the first quarter of 2014, Healthcare & Transport Services and Northgate Vehicle Hire (NVH) entered in to a new partnership agreement which saw the supply of 26 vehicles early in Q2.

“NVH provided HATS with a flexible, risk free acquisition method for the fleet whilst demonstrating an efficient maintenance support network. This would ensure HATS could focus their time and energy on doing what they do best, running reliable, hassle free transport services for their clients.”

HATS’ Fleet Procurement Manager and his team have done a brilliant job in structuring this new deal. And I hope that this new working relationship will continue to help us develop and grow our range of transport services.

Everybody in the industry knows influence and presence that Northgate has, and what services they can offer companies like HATS. It’s a great advance which will undoubtedly help support the needs of our trusted clients.

Welcome to my official website – www.HenryBilinski.co.uk.

As this is my first full length blog, I thought it would be helpful to give some insight into who I am, and the work that is done being done by the Healthcare and Transport Services (HATS) Group. I believe moving forward this short overview will help set the tone for forthcoming articles which will consist of HATS updates, news and business help.

Henry BilinskiSo moving on, here’s some more information and background on myself and the HATS group.

Having been involved with the HATS group for over 13 years, I’ve seen the company flourish; developing longstanding ideals and strong relationships with our clients. Acting as CEO brings on many challenges in day to day life, but the experience has been truly rewarding.

As a service provider to the public sector, in both the healthcare and education industries, at HATS we always recognise the needs and requirements of each and every one of our clients.

Whether it’s providing services for schools, social care or patient transport, at HATS we take pride in our ability to produce affordable and maintainable transport solutions.

The HATS Group

The HATS group has always had a strong connection to the community and we believe it’s of the upmost importance to give back to those around us. Over the years we’ve had the chance to work with some amazing people and associations, participating in community initiatives and assisting charitable organisations such as the Make-a-Wish Foundation, CHASE, The Salvation Army, CLIC Sargent and many more. And this is something I look forward to continuing in 2014.

I hope this short introduction has been in some way helpful, and that moving forward it will stand as a reference for further blogs yet to come.
